DRBF Administration & Practice Workshop

This full-day workshop is focused on Dispute Board practice with binding decisions under standard form contracts and international rules, and is designed for those new to the DB process, interested in serving on DBs, and those implementing DBs on their projects for the first time.

Trainers: Fatima Bonassa, Leo Grutters, Pablo Laorden, and Ignacio Palacios

Explore the basic tenets of the Dispute Board (DB) process:

  • History and background of Dispute Boards and the DRBF
  • Introduction to DBs
  • Selection and appointment of DB members
  • Site visits and meetings
  • Informal Assistance and Advisory Opinions
  • Claims, Disputes, Referrals, Decisions, and Enforcement
  • Effectiveness of DBs

Workshop will be delivered in English only.

Dispute Board Intermediate Workshop

Prerequisite required: DRBF Administration & Practice Workshop; if you have not yet taken this course, consider attending the virtual course on 18 - 20 April, click for details

Trainers: Romano Allione, Jeremy Glover, Aisha Nadar, and Marcela Radovic

Training designed for new and practicing Dispute Board members, this half-day course will dig deeper into the fine points of DB procedure, including ethics, dispute avoidance techniques, and more! Come prepared to learn and share your first-hand experiences through facilitated discussions and exercises.
