This workshop is designed for those working with Dispute Boards that utilize non-binding recommendations as found primarily in the US and Canada and other jurisdictions, and not using standard form contracts. This program is to support construction attorneys (in-house and outside counsel) interested in understanding the core tenets of Dispute Boards for successful projects. Topics include:

  • Key Legal Considerations: binding/non-binding, admissibility, liability, statute of limitations, etc.
  • Drafting Contract Documents for DBs: DB Specification, DB Agreement, DB Operating Procedures, and more
  • Attorney Role in the DB Process: collaboration, transparency, team coaching, Board appointments, and more

The workshop will be offered live with lecture, interactive discussion questions, and ample time for Q&A.

Pre-Requisite:

  • Attendees must have taken the DRBF Administration & Practice Workshop in the past five years OR
  • Registrants may view the pre-requisite course online at your convenience and pass the brief course assessment prior to this workshop. Details on the pre-requisite course will be included in the registration confirmation for this workshop.
