Volker is a civil engineer, Technical University, Aachen, Germany. He has been working with a major German international contractor for 35 years, the last 15 of which as an Executive Director. His responsibilities were part of the local business and all of the international business outside of the European Union. Projects under his direct responsibility include major infrastructure works, hydroelectric projects, harbour construction, drill and blast as well as TBM tunnelling and building works.
He has experience in dispute resolution by negotiation, by mediation, by dispute boards and by arbitration.

Volker is now working as a contract consultant and in dispute resolution. He is member of the Executive Board of Directors of the DRBF and President of its Region 2.
